Micsig TO3004 Oscilloscope

A tablet oscilloscope: a 10.1-inch touch screen, a battery for several hours, about five centimetres thick. You carry it to the board or the machine instead of dragging the circuit to the instrument. Four channels and 300 MHz cover the usual embedded work: clock, reset, PWM, a switching supply and a serial bus on one screen. The I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN decoders are included, no extra licences.

Included

Four passive ×1/×10 probes. There is no differential probe and no current clamp.

How to use

1. Switch on, check the charge. The divider setting on the probe and on the screen must match, or the readings are off by ten times.
2. Connect the ground clip as close to the measurement point as possible.
3. Auto-set is a starting point; set the timebase and the scale by hand from there.
4. For faults that happen rarely, trigger on pulse width or on the bus instead of watching for them.
5. Screenshots go to USB or the internal storage. When done, put the probes back and put the instrument on charge.

Take care

• The probe ground is tied to the instrument ground. Never clip it to a live conductor: mains 230 V measurements without a differential probe or an isolation transformer are not done here.
• The probe's voltage limit depends on the divider setting; ×1 and ×10 differ.

Access

The instrument is in the hackspace room, so a plan with hackspace access is required. No induction is needed. The oscilloscope stays in the room; it is not for rent.
